Jennifer Lawrence's Acting Journey
Lawrence wanted to be an actress since childhood and began performing in school plays and local theater while studying in Louisville, Kentucky. At age 14, in 2005, she accompanied her mother to New York City to visit talent agencies, hoping to get into acting and modeling. While there, she was discovered by a talent scout and later auditioned for his agency. She took small acting roles and modeled for commercials in New York in the summer of that year.
Based on that success, after Lawrence’s early graduation from high school, the family relocated to Los Angeles to allow her to pursue her career.

From 2007 to 2009, Lawrence played the teenage daughter of a psychiatrist on the cable television comedy The Bill Engvall Show.
